Impressions from Xurrent Connect 2019
Xurrent Connect 2019 has come to an end. We welcomed delegates from over 20 countries aboard the ss Rotterdam. A record number of people attended the training sessions during the first day of the event. The main conference was held on the second day and also saw a record number of attendees.
Day 1 – Training
The first day started with an overview of the Xurrent SCCM Connector. This session was provided in collaboration with Scope4mation. This was followed by a review of the SCIM integration capabilities that are now an integral part of the Xurrent service.

In the afternoon, multiple training sessions were provided for beginners and experienced Xurrent administrators. Topics ranged from Automation Rules and UI Extensions to Account Setup and Service Catalog Best Practices.
The evening session was reserved for Xurrent partners and concluded with a group dinner at Hotel New York.

Day 2 – The Conference
Cor Winkler Prins (CEO, Xurrent) opened the second day of Xurrent Connect 2019 with an update regarding the developments over the last 12 months. Later that day, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the main industry trends such as: VeriSM, Agile, ITIL 4, DevOps, Shift Left, Enterprise Service Management and, of course, Service Integration and Management (SIAM).

Laurens Pit (CTO, Xurrent) provided a dedicated update about the security and compliance aspects of the Xurrent service. Later in the afternoon Laurens came back on stage to provide a sneak preview of the ‘Provider Reports’ that our development team is currently working on.

The conference was closed out by Cor Winkler Prins. He provided an outlook on where the industry is headed and how Xurrent will continue to add new features that enable dynamic sourcing. Dynamic sourcing focuses on providing the agility that the business needs to realize innovative digital initiatives more quickly. (A solid introduction to dynamic sourcing is provided by Gartner in Apply a Dynamic Sourcing Strategy for IT Services to Support Digital Initiatives – subscription required).

We would like to thank all our customers and partners for making these two days so special. We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year aboard the ss Rotterdam.

A Note From the Road: What SPARK Taught Me About Time
During the second SPARK event in Antwerp, I stood at the back of a training room and watched a customer build a custom integration with our new iPaaS, wiring Xurrent to another system in her stack that had never talked to it before. No services rep doing it for her. No statement of work, no project plan with a kickoff and a go-live date. Just a person with live beta access in her hands, connecting two systems by hand, and finishing it before her coffee went cold. A year ago that would have been a multi-week project with a budget attached. She looked up, a little surprised it had actually worked, and said something I have not stopped thinking about since. She said it just gave her her week back.

How Long Should ITSM Implementation Really Take in 2026?
Most vendors will tell you ITSM implementation takes six months to a year — but modern, configuration-first platforms have rewritten the math entirely. See what real implementations look like in 2026, and why a long rollout is now a choice, not a given.
