It is fairly common that specialists need to look up the serial number of a configuration item (CI) when they are asked to work on a request. They normally do not go to the CI to look at its barcode label. Instead, they look this up in the Xurrent CMDB.
To make it easier for them to retrieve the serial number of an asset that is linked to a request that they are working on, the Serial number field has been added to the configuration item preview.
The ‘Copy to clipboard‘ feature is available there so that the serial number can be copied with a single mouse click. This should minimize the effort needed to pick up the serial number of a CI.
