Reconciliation
Keep the CMDB clean as data arrives by matching incoming records against what you already have.
Reconciliation keeps your CMDB clean at the moment data arrives. When a configuration item comes in from a discovery tool, an integration, an import, or the ingest API, reconciliation matches it against your existing configuration items, so a second source reporting a device you already track updates that record instead of creating a duplicate.
This section covers turning reconciliation on, working the queue, and tuning how records are matched.
- Getting Started with Reconciliation: turn reconciliation on and reach your first resolved match.
- The Reconciliation Queue: match incoming records and resolve the ones that need a reviewer.
- Reconciliation Rules: auto-resolve trusted matches and escalate uncertain ones.
