AI Incident Summarizer
Generate a plain-language summary of any incident
The AI Incident Summarizer produces a structured summary of an incident from the data already attached to it: alerts, logs, notes, and chat threads.
Each summary describes what is happening, which services and systems are affected, and where the incident currently stands, including any mitigation recorded so far.
Summaries are generated on demand. Use them to brief stakeholders during an incident, bring a new responder up to speed, or draft a status page update without interrupting the team working the incident.
The Summarizer reports on incident data only. It does not identify root cause. To investigate cause, use the Root Cause Agent.

Before you begin
Requirements
- The incident must have data attached to it. Alerts, notes, and impacted services are the primary inputs.
- To generate summaries from a chat channel, the Slack or Microsoft Teams integration must be configured for the team.
Important
- A summary reflects the incident at the moment it is generated. It does not update automatically.
- Summary quality depends on incident data quality. An incident with few notes and no impacted services produces a limited summary.
- Review every summary before sharing it, particularly anything customer-facing.
Generate a summary
