Grafana Integration Guide

Grafana is a multi-platform open source analytics and interactive visualization web application. It provides charts, graphs, and alerts for the web when connected to supported data sources. It is expandable through a plug-in system. End users can create complex monitoring dashboards using interactive query builders.

This integration is for an older version of Grafana, for the newer version(v8) of Grafana, please click

  1. IMPORTANT WARNING
    • Sometimes, Grafana may not fire an alert if the 'Include Image' parameter is selected. First check if the alert is working with the parameter not selected, and then try selecting the parameter and see if the alerts are fired to Xurrent IMR.
  2. Go to your Grafana Dashboard and click on the Alerts tab. Click on Create alert. In the alert configuration under Send to, add Xurrent IMR as a notification method. Add a relevant message for the alert and save the graph.

What can Xurrent IMR do for Grafana users?

With Grafana's Integration, Xurrent IMR sends new Grafana alerts to the right team and notifies them based on on-call schedules via email, text messages(SMS), phone calls(Voice), Slack, Microsoft Teams and iOS & Android push notifications, and escalates alerts until the alert is acknowledged or closed. Xurrent IMR provides your NOC, SRE and application engineers with detailed context around the Grafana alert along with playbooks and a complete incident command framework to triage, remediate and resolve incidents with speed.

Whenever Grafana triggers an alert based on a predefined condition, Xurrent IMR will create an incident. When the alert goes back to the recovered state on Grafana, Xurrent IMR will auto-resolve the incident.

You can also use Alert Rules to custom route specific Grafana alerts to specific users, teams or escalation policies, write suppression rules, auto add notes, responders and incident tasks.
