Intune CMDB
This guide explains how to install and configure the Microsoft Intune V2 app in Xurrent to securely synchronize device data from Intune with customizable mappings and automated updates.
Xurrent Microsoft Intune V2 App Installation Guide
It is organized into two main sections:
- Prerequisites for Microsoft Intune Integration – Setting up OAuth2 credentials and configuring the required app permissions.
- Installing the Microsoft Intune V2 App in Xurrent – Adding the app and providing the necessary configuration details for successful integration.
1. Prerequisites :
Before installing and configuring the Xurrent Microsoft Intune App, ensure the following prerequisites are completed:
OAuth2 Credential Setup
To enable integration with Microsoft Intune, an OAuth2 credential must be created by registering an application in Azure:
- Register a new application in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Generate a Client Secret under Certificates & Secrets.
- Save the Tenant ID, Client ID, and Client Secret for use during configuration.
Required App Permissions
Assign the following permission to the registered application:
- DeviceManagementManagedDevices.Read.All (Microsoft Graph API)
Optional App Permissions
If you plan to use the Device Group Filter feature, also assign:
- GroupMember.Read.All (Microsoft Graph API)
Once these prerequisites are completed, you can proceed to install and configure the Microsoft Intune V2 App in Xurrent.
2. Installing the Microsoft Intune V2 Beta App in Xurrent :
1. Open the Xurrent App Store and locate the Microsoft Intune V2 Beta app.

2. During installation, you will be guided through several configuration screens. Some fields are mandatory, while others are optional.
Once configured, the integration will:
- Automatically create new product categories and products as required.
- Generate and update configuration data as needed.
Connection :
In the Connection section, provide the credentials obtained during the OAuth2 setup:
- Tenant ID
- Client ID
- Client Secret
These credentials enable the integration to securely retrieve device information from Microsoft Intune.
Device Group Filter (Optional)
You may specify an Entra ID group name in the Device Group Filter field.
- If provided, only devices that are members of this group will be synchronized.
- If left blank, all devices from Intune will be synchronized.

Configuration Item Mapping
This section defines how Microsoft Intune data maps to Xurrent configuration items. Some values are always synchronized, while others can be customized.
Default Mappings (Always Synchronized):
Operating System Relations
The integration determines the appropriate software configuration item based on the OS name and version reported by Intune.
- The system searches for a software configuration item where the name or one of the alternate names matches the OS version provided by Intune.
- The first matching configuration item is used.
Example:
- OS reported by Intune: Name = Windows, Version = 10.0.26100
- System searches for:
- Name = Windows 10.0.26100 or
- Alternate Name = Windows 10.0.26100
- If a configuration item like Windows 11 24H2 has Windows 10.0.26100 as an alternate name, it will be selected.
This ensures OS versioning aligns correctly within Xurrent, even though Intune does not provide SKU-level details.
Configurable Mappings :

Custom Fields Configuration :
This section allows you to map Intune fields to custom configuration item fields in Xurrent, enabling more detailed tracking and management of your devices.
Available Intune Field Mappings:

Execution Summary :
The Execution Summary provides a complete overview of the latest integration run, including synchronization results, errors, and missing configuration items.
Note: This integration runs automatically once per day.
Execution Status: Shows the results of the most recent execution, including the current status and, in case of failures, the reason for failure.
Example:
- Status: Completed at Tue, Oct 21, 2025, 20:30 UTC
Execution Output:
Displays the results of the most recent execution, including timestamps, statuses, and any error messages. Example:
- Total Devices Found Since Last Sync: 0
- Total Configuration Items (Updated/Created): 0
- Total Errors: 0
Errors:
- Lists any errors that occurred during the last execution.
Missing OS Configuration Items:
- Shows OS configuration items detected on devices that are not yet present in Xurrent.

Save the app. The app will generate integration details required.
If the details do not appear immediately, refresh the screen.
If the details are still missing after one minute, contact Xurrent support or try reinstalling the app.
Note: Ensure the configuration values shown match your account.
