Product ID for Quick Access to Support
The Product ID field has been added to the Product form. It can be used to enter the unique identifier that has been given to a product by its manufacturer.
Even though this field has been labeled “Product ID”, manufacturers may refer to this identifier by different names, such as:
- Product number
- Model number
- Part number
- Service tag
- EAN (European Article Number)
- UPC (Universal Product Code)
Being able to easily find this identifier can be helpful when obtaining support from the product’s manufacturer. That is why, when the Product ID field has been specified in a product, this field becomes visible also in the ‘Financial Details’ section of each of the product’s configuration items.
