Keep Expanded Sections Open

Carlyn Manly

ExpandedThis could be the best usability feature that no one will ever notice. When someone selects a record in a view, this record opens in View mode to the right of the view.

A person record, for example, may look like this in View mode:

Person record in View mode with all sections collapsed

The user can then expand sections of the record to see more details. For example, the ‘Configuration Items’ section may be opened.

What is new is that the user can now select another record in the view and this record will be presented with the same section(s) expanded.

4me remembers the sections that a user expanded as long as that person selects records within the same view.

The best part of this new feature is probably that, when a record is placed in Edit mode, the same section(s) that were open in View mode are also expanded in Edit mode.
