Account Sync: Custom Collections and Surveys

Patrick Bakker
Account sync

Recently, the 4me® Account Sync feature was released, making it possible to easily transfer configuration data between environments, in a controlled fashion. The initial release allowed for the synchronization of a limited number of record types, such as scrum workspaces, teams, and calendars. Several new record types have now been added to that list.

Sync sets types

Custom Collections

A custom collection is used as a record type that is not available as a standard record type in 4me accounts. The individual records (elements) of a custom collection are maintained as custom collection elements. When custom collections are selected to be synchronized in a sync set, the corresponding custom collection elements are automatically selected as well.

Existing custom collections (and elements) in the target environment can be synchronized if their ‘reference’ matches the collection being imported. This means that
the match is based on reference, not name.

Surveys

Surveys can be created to let users of a service rate that service anonymously in the ‘My Services’ section of 4me Self Service. Each survey can consist of a number of questions that can be answered by either a 1 to 5 star rating or free text. When surveys are selected to be synchronized in a sync set, the corresponding survey questions are automatically selected as well.

An existing survey in the target environment can be synchronized if its ‘name’ matches the survey from the source environment.

Account designers are now also able to use the Account Sync feature.
