The table below lists the fields of the Timesheet Settings form and provides utilization guidelines for each field.
Field Label Utilization Guideline Name
The Name
field is used to enter the name of the timesheet settings.
Disabled
The Disabled
box is checked when the timesheet settings may not be related to any more organizations .
Assignment time tracking
The Assignment time
tracking box is checked when the Time spent field needs to be available in requests, problems and tasks for specialists of the related organizations to specify how long they have worked on their assignments.
Require note
The Require note
box is available when the Assignment time tracking box is checked. The Require note box is checked when a note needs to be added whenever a value other than zero has been entered in the Time spent field of a request, problem, workflow task or project task.
Allocation time tracking
The Allocation time tracking
box is checked when people of the related organizations need to be able to register time entries for the time allocations that are linked to their organizations.
Notify people when their timesheet is incomplete
The Notify people when their timesheet is incomplete
box is checked when people who belong to one of the organizations linked to the timesheet settings should receive a notification at the start of a new workweek when their timesheet does not contain 100% of their workweek’s time for the previous week.
Effort Classes Effort classes
The Effort classes
field is used to select the effort classes that need to be available for selection when people, who belong to an organization that makes use of one of the timesheet settings, register their time.
This field is available only when the Assignment time tracking box or the Allocation time tracking box is checked.
Default for requests
The Default for requests
field is used to select one of the effort classes that has been related to the timesheet settings. The selected effort class will be the default value of a request’s Effort class field after someone who belongs to an organization that makes use of the timesheet settings enters a value in the request’s Time spent field.
This field is available only when the Assignment time tracking box is checked.
Default for problems
The Default for problems
field is used to select one of the effort classes that has been related to the timesheet settings. The selected effort class will be the default value of a problem’s Effort class field after someone who belongs to an organization that makes use of the timesheet settings enters a value in the problem’s Time spent field.
This field is available only when the Assignment time tracking box is checked.
Default for workflow tasks
The Default for workflow tasks
field is used to select one of the effort classes that has been related to the timesheet settings. The selected effort class will be the default value of a workflow task’s Effort class field after someone who belongs to an organization that makes use of the timesheet settings enters a value in the workflow task’s Time spent field. Note, however, that when the workflow task is based on a template that has a value in its Default effort class field and this default effort class is also related to the timesheet settings, then the default effort class selected in the workflow task template will instead be the default value in the workflow task.
This field is available only when the Assignment time tracking box is checked.
Default for project tasks
The Default for project tasks
field is used to select one of the effort classes that has been related to the timesheet settings. The selected effort class will be the default value of a project task’s Effort class field after someone who belongs to an organization that makes use of the timesheet settings enters a value in the project task’s Time spent field. Note, however, that when the project task is based on a template that has a value in its Default effort class field and this default effort class is also related to the timesheet settings, then the default effort class selected in the project task template will instead be the default value in the project task.
This field is available only when the Assignment time tracking box is checked.
Default for time allocations
The Default for time allocations
field is used to select one of the effort classes that has been related to the timesheet settings. The selected effort class will be the default value of a time entry’s Effort class field when someone who belongs to an organization that makes use of the timesheet settings has selected a time allocation in a time entry. Note, however, that when a time allocation that has a value in its Default effort class field is selected in a time entry and this default effort class is also related to the timesheet settings, then the default effort class selected in the time allocation will instead be the default value in the time entry.
This field is available only when the Allocation time tracking box is checked.
Allocation Time Tracking Workday
The Workday
field is used to specify the duration of a workday in hours and minutes.
Workweek
The Workweek
field is used to specify the duration of a workweek in hours and minutes.
Allow workday overtime
The Allow workday overtime
box is checked when the people of the organizations to which the timesheet settings are linked are allowed to register more time for a single day than the amount of time specified in the Workday field.
Allow workweek overtime
The Allow workweek overtime
box is checked when the people of the organizations to which the timesheet settings are linked are allowed to register more time for a single week than the amount of time specified in the Workweek field.
Unit
The Unit
field is used to specify whether the people of the organizations to which the timesheet settings are linked need to register their time in hours and minutes, or as a percentage of a workday.
Increment
The Increment
field is used to select the minimum amount of time that the people of the organizations to which the timesheet settings are linked can select when they register a time entry. This amount of time is also the increment by which they can increase this minimum amount of time.
Organizations Organizations
The Organizations
field is used to select the organizations to which people’s timesheets the timesheet settings are to be applied.
